The Chicago Cubs are the defending champions of the central division of the Baseball National league. Being an American professional Baseball Team in the Chicago Illinois, they are among the two remaining members of the N.L which has an infamous record of one hundred year drought of existence in the major North as a franchise.

Dating back in 1916 the clubs have been playing their games in the Wrigley field which is located in the Lakeview community of the Northern part of the Chicago and this has earned them the name “The North Siders”. Due to the color of their uniform, they have also been given a new name; “The Boy’s in Blue” or the “Cubbies”.

With the current management of Lou Piniella and the general Manager Jim Hendry the team has been able to achieve a lot. The club underwent some changes and some were noticed in the 2007 when the parent organization of the club was purchased by Sam Zell. The team was announced for sale in 2009. This became a success with Tom Ricketts being announced the winner of the rights of negations and this went to a further level when the club was announced sold in July 6, 2009 and there was a pending league worth $900 million ready for approval.

Back in history, the club was called Whitestocking, as compared to today where it sounds ironical since their rivals today are called White sox in the American League. So many changes have been in place from changing of names to management. Since the past, the club was called Colts and in 1906 it changed its name to Cubs. It has been evidenced that, since the establishment of the National league, cubs has been a very strong club and has been evidenced as the only one who made it after all its time in existence.

Being a very stable team and one that was fully attaché to the National League, the cubs did not make its way to the World Series since 1908. Lucky enough, they proceeded and in the years 1910,1929,1932,1935 and 1945 they had made it in the World Series. During all this time they were experiencing defeat, they had this as colorful events in their baseball history.

The club has been playing in the Historic Wrigley Field since the year 1916 and so many people had a reason to visit here in order to acquire tickets for the Chicago cubs. This field was not a very large one since it was build and it had the capability to hold 14,000 fans, but since this moment things have changed due to renovations and it can now hold more that 41,000 fans.

Even with all the participation that the Chicago cubs had had in the Wrigley field, it will be always identified with it for the quirky features that it contains. Wrigley is famous and has an easy recognition because it has a brick wall and many fans will mark it of chasing the ball and slamming on hard bricks.
